Your First Run Now Starts With a Phase, Not a Form

Setup used to end with a number. It now ends with a plan: the phase you are in, what happens next, and the day your first Brief lands. Cruise is free from now on.

Every calorie counter ends its setup the same way. You answer eight questions, a formula runs, and out comes a number. 1,876. Good luck.

The number is the easy part. What nobody tells you is what to do with it, or when it stops being true.

So we rebuilt the first run around Autopilot.

First, your engine

Before anything else, you see what your body spends on a typical day, split into the part that happens lying still and the part that happens because you moved.

The estimated daily burn, split into resting and moving
The estimated daily burn, split into resting and moving

This is an estimate, and the screen says so. It comes from your sex, age, height, weight and activity. What matters is that it is the starting point, not the answer. Autopilot refines it from your real weight and intake as you log.

Then, the phase you are actually in

This is the part that changed. Instead of asking what your goal weight is and handing you a deficit, WhispCal asks which phase you are in, and explains the rule that phase follows.

Peak Maintenance, with the rule it follows
Peak Maintenance, with the rule it follows

If you want to lose fat, it will usually point you at Peak Maintenance first. That sounds like a detour and it is not. A cut off a guess is a guess. Peak Maintenance finds the highest intake where your weight actually holds, and then the cut has a real number to start from.

You can swipe to compare the phases and pick another one. The recommendation is a recommendation.

Then, the plan

Setup closes on a card rather than a number.

The flight plan: now, next, first brief and starting target
The flight plan: now, next, first brief and starting target

It shows the phase you are starting, what comes after it, your starting target with its macros, and the date your first Brief arrives. You can read the whole arc before you have logged a single meal.

Cruise is free now

One more change worth its own line. Cruise is the phase that holds a target you set and never moves it on its own. It watches, and at the end of each window it tells you what your weight actually did.

It used to be premium. It is free from now on.

Coaching that keeps you steady should not be the paid tier. If you are not ready for a cut and not trying to gain, Cruise is a perfectly good place to be, and nobody should have to start out on their own to get there.

Peak Maintenance was already free and stays free. Cut, Reverse Diet, Bulk and Reset are the premium phases.
